The musical Sodom: the Gay Hyperpop Epic directed by Piotr Michalski tells a story of Adam leaving his lover to save the town from God’s wrath.
Music was created with mind of practices used by experimental queer artists: the use of washed digital spaces, aggressive phaseres, distortions, glitches and autotune to create sound that is dreamy and energetic at the same time. At heart it undermines straightforward representation of artists’ voices, instruments and spaces they play.
Compositions are led by aggressive drum machines and heavily post-produced vocals. They follow popsong structure but dive into experimental production connecting ambient, techno, classical and dance genres in a blend unique for this production.
