Music for the movie created by Maria Plucińska is dominated by analog sounds: voices of extinct bird species, glass harmonicas, analog synthesisers, human voices, pianos, glass plates and church spaces. The instruments are tuned in microtonal scales to give the feeling of nostalgia, an old memory that’s out of place.
Compositions have open quality, coming together and falling apart quickly, giving them unstable tension. Sounds were processed thru distortion pedals and granular delays, which connected with church spaces confuse listeners. There is a formal tension between something old and a distortion of it, referring to the actions of the characters who are inspired by old practices. The compositions balance between sadness and joy, looking for a bittersweet feeling.
The movie follows a group of people developing rituals based on lives of animals in slaughterhouses.
